What I'm reading...
I am currently reading Irena's Children: Young Reader's Edition by Tilar J. Mazzeo. So far, I am loving the fascinating story of Irena Sendler. Warsaw has been under fire by the Germans and the city has been taken over. Jews have been ordered to report to the "Jewish Quarter" and Irena is scared for her friends and loved ones. Irena worked in the social welfare office of Warsaw and ran soup kitchens across the city. I'm curious to find out how exactly Irena begun to smuggle children to safety from the War Ghetto.

I just finished...

I am just finished reading The Fountains of Silence by Ruts Sepetys. Ruta Sepetys is one of my favorite authors so I was excited to read her new book. The Fountains of Silence is a historical fiction novel that takes place in Spain during the 1950s under the dictatorship of Franciso Franco. The main character Daniel, is from Dallas and travels to Spain with his parents one summer to visit his mother's home country as his father works on an oil partnership between Spain and the US. He is a budding young photographer and his photos start to uncover the real story of the people of Spain beyond the glamorous resort his family and other American are staying in and the wealthy social circles he is introduced to.
